Moving in the Sunshine State comes with its own quirks. Here's what we've learned after hundreds of Florida moves.
Beat the Heat: Move Early
Florida summers hit hard. Schedule your move for early morning (7–10am) to avoid peak afternoon temperatures, especially June through September.
Plan Around Rainy Season
From June to October, afternoon thunderstorms are nearly daily. Build buffer time into your schedule and protect furniture with plastic wrap and waterproof pads. We bring both.
Reserve Elevators in Advance
If you're moving into a condo or high-rise (common in Orlando and Tampa), book the service elevator with building management at least a week ahead to avoid delays.
Update Your Address Early
Florida has strict vehicle registration and driver's license rules. Update your address with the FLHSMV within 30 days of moving to avoid fines.
